What is the meaning of Tiaokou
Tiaokou:”Tiao”, Ribbon wood,refers to the wind. “Kou”,the mouth,the channel. The name of “Tiaokou” means that the Qi of this point is the wind-qi. The substance of this acupoint is the wet cloud-qi from ST 37(Shangjuxu). Its volume and affecting area is large.Since the channel of this point is ribbon and narrow,it passes through quickly as if wind pass through tunnel, hence the name.
